Backpacks for Kids in Abilene!
The Journey is going to be sponsoring a program called Backpacks for kids. During the school year hundreds of kids recieve free or reduced lunches for the school day. Thats only 5 out of the 7 days. What happens on the weekends when those families can't afford food? Many of those kids would go without food if not for the backpacks for kids programs in AISD. The Journey is partnering with Mcmurry University and Religous life to sponsor this program. Our hope is that in the future we will be able to provide these children with meals for the weekends and the extended Holidays, When many of them would not otherwise recieve meals.
Charity Effectiveness
"The Journey believes in donating to organizations that use funds and resources in an exemplary way. As we are driven towards certain causes, we utilize www.charitynavigator.org to pick non-profits of the highest caliber to sponsor. In doing so, we make sure that every donation is being utilized in the best way possible. Below is a chart listing the Ratings for each organization.
